EATING

Give your puppy good quality dog food, and feed them 3 times a day when they are a puppy (morning, noon, & night), and 2 times a day when they are a fully grown dog (morning & night). There are some things you should not feed your dog, and some of these are:

-Onions, Garlic, and Shallots

  • These are all part of the onion family, so they all include things that can damage you dogs red cells if they eat it. Even though it’s not common for your dog to eat raw garlic or onions, it is still a serious risk for your dog. A poisoned dog should be taken to a vet immediately.

-Alcohol

  • Dogs are much more sensitive to alcohol than we are. Alcohol can cause dogs to vomit, have diarrhea, be uncoordinated and lose orientation, have difficulty breathing, fall into a coma, or even die.

-Caffeinated Drinks & Chocolate

  • Drinks like soda and coffee have substances in them that can make your dog very sick and can cause vomiting, diarrhea, excessive thirst, and in some cases, even death. Make sure you keep your dog away from anything with caffeine in it, including chocolate.
